Disney fans have been desperate to see a sequel to Frozen ever since the first film came out in 2013. The story of sisters Anna and Elsa and the magical powers that separated them made for excellent viewing, and Frozen quickly became one of the most successful Disney films of all time.

Thankfully, Disney have blessed us with a sequel six years later, with most of the original voice cast reprising their roles - Idina Menzel as Elsa, Kristen Bell as Anna, Josh Gad as Olaf and Jonathan Groff as Hans.

Today, they've released a trailer for the upcoming film, as well as confirming that the release date will be 22nd November 2019. This is the first glimpse we've had of the new story - and it looks VERY intriguing...

The trailer shows that we'll be seeing a bit of Elsa's backstory, as the film goes back to when the girls were younger and being told a bedtime story by their father - voiced by Alfred Molina. Anna and Elsa are also joined by Hans and Olaf on a new quest as they realise the bedtime story was based on reality...

The official synopsis from Disney reads, 'Why was Elsa born with magical powers? What truths about the past await Elsa as she ventures into the unknown to the enchanted forests and dark seas beyond Arendelle?

'The answers are calling her but also threatening her kingdom. Together with Anna, Kristoff, Olaf and Sven, she'll face a dangerous but remarkable journey. In Frozen, Elsa feared her powers were too much for the world. In Frozen 2, she must hope they are enough.'
