Forbes have just released their list of The World’s Highest-Paid Actors 2016 and the pay gap between men and women prevails.

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson hits the top spot earning a massive $64 million compared to Jennifer Lawrence's $46 million over the same time period.

The Rock more than doubled his earnings from last year, mainly due to films such as Central Intelligence and Fast 8 as well as the forthcoming Baywatch.

Last year's number one, Robert Downey Jr has dropped to eighth place earning 'just' $33 million 58% less than last year.

Jackie Chan has been ranked number two in this list for the second year in a row having done a lot of work in China rather than Hollywood.

Compared to the World’s Highest-Paid Actresses the average age is much higher with 95% of the actors over the age of 40 and some such as Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan and Harrison Ford being in their 70s.
