The science fiction thriller is tipped to be HBO's next big hit

Thandie Newton says we should be wary of placing high expectations on her new series Westworld, as the hype never lives up!

'I've had so many experiences in my career of wanting something or expecting something that hasn't happened.'

'I just don't even go there anymore.'

The science fiction thriller is tipped to be HBO's next big venture. The series is a remake of the classic 1973 western set in a futuristic theme park.

Thandie plays a brothel madam alongside the likes of Sir Anthony Hopkins, Evan Rachel Wood, James Marsden and Ed Harris.

The series has been hyped as the new Game of Thrones. The fantasy series is set to draw to a close in the next couple of years after dominating TV ratings and awards ceremonies since it started in 2011.

Thandie says hyping Westworld as it's replacement is a bad idea.

'As soon as you start anticipating that everyone is going to like something, then you get an audience saying "well i'm not going to watch this because you say so!"'

'People like to discover things for themselves. I think even when Game of Thrones first started it was this kind of cool, culty thing.'

Westworld is on Sky Atlantic on Tuesday's at 9pm.
