Just two years after 'smashing his spine to pieces' and undergoing surgery for six hours after falling off his electric bike in America, music mogul Simon Cowell is reportedly 'lucky to be alive' following another accident.

Simon, who completed the audition process for the upcoming series of Britain's Got Talent last week, was rushed to hospital after falling of his e-bike near his home in London.

According to reports, the 62-year-old "propelled over the handlebars and onto the road at 20mph", before being taken to hospital on Thursday 27th January.

A source told The Mirror: "Simon was on the e-bike with his electric motor on, when the bike slipped on a wet patch.

"He went flying over the handlebars into the middle of the road and is lucky to be alive as he wasn’t wearing a helmet. There was blood pouring from his face but luckily he managed to get some help from passers by.

"He was taken to hospital and X-rays showed he broke his arm. He has his arm in a yellow cast and is on the mend now but will need to rest."

Simon is yet to publicly speak about the incident, but he's only just returned to work on Britain's Got Talent following his e-bike accident back in 2020.

The X Factor creator broke his back in three places and required six-hour long surgery at the time, posting on Twitter in 2020: 'Some good advice... If you buy an electric trail bike, read the manual before you ride it for the first time. I have broken part of my back. Thank you to everyone for your kind messages.'

'And a massive thank you to all the nurses and doctors. Some of the nicest people I have ever met. Stay safe everyone. Simon.' (sic)
