Selena Gomez has recently opened up about her mental health, cancelling her tour and being honest with her fans, in an interview with Vogue magazine.

The 24-year-old singer met with the magazine's journalist in Los Angeles where they cooked a meal in tribute to her childhood 'after-church Sunday barbecues' and talked about her life.

Last year Selena became the most followed person on Instagram, but she "freaked out" and in August she posted her last photo for three months which seemed like a lifetime in some fans' eyes.

At the same time as taking a break from Instagram the star also cancelled the rest of her Revival World Tour and checked in for treatment.

"Tours are a really lonely place for me," she explained.

"I started to have panic attacks right before getting on stage, or right after leaving the stage. Basically I felt I wasn’t good enough, wasn’t capable."

Whilst getting treatment she had group therapy with a handful of other young women who Selena described as "real people who couldn’t give two sh*ts about who I was."

She explained, "It was one of the hardest things I’ve done, but it was the best thing I’ve done."

Selena might have 113 million followers on Instagram, but the 'Hands to Myself' singer says only 17 people have her phone number, "Maybe two are famous" she commented.

Selena currently features on Kygo's latest single 'It Aint Me' which is on our playlist.

The singer appears on the front cover of the US Vogue which includes her full interview.
