The photo in question (below) shows Perez, real name Mario Lavandeira, with his son at bath time, saying, "Our family motto is: #fun! We try and incorporate fun into as much of the everyday things we do!".
His post has attracted thousands of likes and hundreds of comments, with most of them supporting the posting of this photo, such as danabeech24 who said, "It's ridiculous that people think this is inappropriate!! I take regular showers with my 2 year old and I never wear a bathing suit. He isn't phased and could care less- he just loves to play with his toys! Love this picture :)"

Despite the online support he has received many have also commented that posting a photo such as this is ‘creepy', ‘inappropriate’, and even a form of ‘child abuse’.
Speaking to the Daily Mail Perez hit back at critics saying, "I had my bathing suit on, and I didn't feel the need to clarify that in the caption.
"Everyone does what they see fit as a parent. Personally, I enjoy putting on my swim trunks and taking a shower with my son as often as possible.
“I’d rather do that than leave him unattended, which will not happen until he's older and I'm confident he can be safe alone."
Perez is a father two-year-old Mario and seven month old Mia Alma Lavandeira both of which feature heavily in his Instagram posts.
