One Direction take to Twitter to confirm they're going their separate ways
But they insist they're not splitting up for good
One Direction’s Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne have all taken to Twitter to confirm the rumours that they’re taking an indefinite hiatus next year.
Reassuring fans that 1D definitely aren’t splitting up for good, the boys told their millions of followers they were taking a “well earned break” after more than five years relentless work.
Breaking the news first, Niall wrote last night: “OK so lots of rumours going round. We are not splitting up, but we will be taking a well earned break at some point next year.
“Don’t worry though, we still have lots we want to achieve! Can’t wait for you to hear all the new music we have for you and to perform.
“Some new songs as the tour continues! Love you all xx”
Echoing Niall’s sentiments, Louis told his 20million Twitter followers: “Your support is truly indescribable! It's just a break :) we're not going anywhere!!”
Then just this morning, Liam Payne added: “So glad everything has been cleared up today and ur support with it is amazing not that we could ever expect anything less your amazing.
“Can't wait to put more time into everything we do and coming out with something great.
“Thank you so much for everything you have done for us it's been the most amazing five years and there's so much more to come.”
Stories emerged in the national press on Sunday that One Direction were going on an “indefinite hiatus” from March next year and they won’t be touring their upcoming fifth album.
Despite the reports, it hasn’t been confirmed exactly when 1D are going their separate ways.
One Direction became a four-piece when Zayn Malik sensationally quit the group in March. He has since signed a solo record deal with RCA Records.
The band’s first song as a four-piece, ‘Drag Me Down’, hit number one earlier this month. Check out the video here:
