New It movie in the works: Pennywise set to terrify a new generation!
Scary times ahead!
Bad news of those of you with clown phobias - a new adaptation of Stephen King’s novel ‘It’ is in the works!
Horror legend Stephen King’s chilling 1986 book about a mysterious being that exploits the phobias of seven children was first adapted four years later in blood-curdling style.
It was the being’s primary incarnation as the evil Pennywise the Clown (played by British actor Tim Curry) that defined the movie and petrified millions of cinemagoers across the globe.
New Line Cinema are now remaking the horror classic with Andy Muschietti unveiled yesterday as the new director taking over from Cary Fukunaga who departed in May.
Muschietti’s 2013 supernatural horror movie Mama starred Jessica Chastain and Game of Thrones star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and made $146million at the box office from a $15million budget.
Just like the original the new It incarnation will be split into two parts and filming began just a couple of weeks ago.
English actor Will Poulter has been linked to playing Pennywise the Clown, according to Hollywood Reporter.
