Little Mix have always been a symbol for girl power - since they were matched up on The X Factor back in 2011, Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock have always paved the way for self-love and body confidence.

Now, they've opened up to This Morning about self-expression, and how their look has changed throughout the years, as Jesy joked that they used to look "very cheap and tacky".

Leigh-Anne recalled a story from about seven years ago of when Perrie's mum had dropped the girls off at the supermarket - but she'd been too scared to get out of the car as she didn't have any makeup on.

Leigh-Anne admitted, "I can’t believe I used to think like that, because now I way prefer my face just bare," as Perrie added, "But I think that comes with age and confidence. I mean we still like to experiment with makeup, what girl doesn’t?"

On how their looks have changed through the years, Perrie said, "We went from really young fresh girls not really wearing much makeup, maybe a little foundation on the lip when it was in, to then being really heavy and looking way older. We looked way beyond our years."

2011

After being put into a group by Kelly Rowland on The X Factor in 2011, the Little Mix girls rocked denim and trainers as they posed at the Judges Houses' stage of the competition.

As Jesy joked that the girls had once looked "very cheap and tacky", Perrie exclaimed, "Jess! It was the style back then. We just felt more secure with lots and lots of makeup on. I do really just think that we’ve got better at knowing what we suit and we don’t feel the need to pile it on anymore."

Leigh-Anne also added, "And we don’t feel the need to get rid of our eyebrows to really thin ones, why I did that...?"

When asked how they're able to banish the negativity, Leigh-Anne sweetly affirmed that the Little Mix girls "compliment each other and boost each other every day." Aww!
