Former Coronation Street actress Kym Marsh has revealed the sweet way she kept her late son Archie close to her heart on her wedding day to army major Scott Ratcliff.

Kym married army major Scott in a romantic ceremony surrounded by their friends and family at Sandhurst military academy at the weekend (17th October 2021).

Speaking to OK!, Kym explained that the flowers at the ceremony and a necklace featuring a cherub were special nods to Archie so he could be there on her special day.

She said: "My children David, Emilie and Polly bought it for me as a Mother’s Day present to symbolise Archie.

“I never take it off and I really wanted to wear it as it represents Archie.

“The other thing we did was have yellow roses dotted around . Yellow wasn’t a part of the day at all. But the yellow rose is Archie’s flower, so we decided we’d put them around the place to symbolise him.”

Kym has been very open in the past about how she and ex-husband Jamie Lomas lost their son, Archie, in 2009 when he was born 18 weeks premature. Despite their best efforts, doctors were unable to stop the labour and Archie tragically passed away just minutes after being born.

Back in October 2018, Kym posted a touching tribute to him in the form of a fitting poem.

The poem talked about an invisible cord that connects a mum to her child, even though they aren't with them anymore. A poignant line in the poem read, 'And though you are gone, though you're not here with me, the cord is still there, but no-one can see.

'It pulls at my heart, I am bruised... I am sore, but this cord is my lifeline as never before.'

Kym and Scott, who has a six-year-old daughter from his past relationship, have both revealed that they have no plans to add to their family.

She revealed: "As a couple, we don’t want more children. I’m 45 and I can’t physically have any myself anyway due to a procedure I had done several years ago.

"We considered adoption at one point but we’re just so busy."

Scott added: "We’ve got Polly and Renee, who are only 10 and six, so we do have young children. We want to focus on them."
