It's one of the most popular TV dramas of the decade, so it's no surprise Killing Eve had a VERY successful night at the BAFTA TV Awards on Sunday 12th May, with the show picking up awards for Drama Series, Leading Actress, and Supporting Actress.
Of course, if you're a fan of Killing Eve, you'll know that Jodie Comer plays the role of Russian assassin Villanelle, so when she accepted her award for Leading Actress at last night's awards, some viewers were left VERY shocked at her accent.
Although most people are now aware that Jodie was actually born and bred in Liverpool, it seems some were completely taken aback by her broad Scouse accent.
One user tweeted, 'I had no idea you were from Liverpool until I heard your accent at the #BAFTATV awards last night. Wow your accents are amazing! Congratulations on your win!'. sic
Another wrote, 'When she began talking I was like eh??? She is that good of an actress that I would never in a million years have expected to hear her accent. She definitely deserved that BAFTA! 😃'. sic
A third shocked fan then added, 'I had no idea your accent in killing eve and dr Foster wasn’t your real one!hats off to you, what a talent you have not only for accents but your wonderful acting too.A well deserved winner 👏🏻'. sic

Jodie beat her Killing Eve co-star Sandra Oh to pick up the Leading Actress BAFTA, but this wasn't the only success the show enjoyed on the night.
Fiona Shaw, who plays Carolyn Martens in the hit drama, won her first ever BAFTA Award, winning in the Supporting Actress category. The show also won Drama Series, beating Bodyguard, Save Me, and Informer.
Meanwhile, after the nation was hooked following season one, Killing Eve season two will air on BBC America on 7th April 2019 at 8pm, with reports suggesting it will arrive in the UK just months later!
