Award-winning actor James Nesbitt has been unveiled as the host of The Jameson Empire Awards.

Taking place in London this coming Sunday (30th March), The Jameson Empire Awards will be attended by a multitude of star guests from the world of film all eager to find out who has won the fan-voted honours.

James, who starred in the seven-times nominated The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug, said: “It’s been a fantastic year for film, from independent movies to Hollywood blockbusters, and the Jameson Empire Awards has always been a great barometer of what has really made an impact with the fans.

“I’m delighted to be part of what promises to be a hugely entertaining evening.”

Empire’s Editor-In-Chief Mark Dinning added: “This year's Jameson Empire Awards is already shaping up to be our most spectacular ever, with more readers voting than ever before and an astonishing list of winners.

“We are delighted that this very special year we have a very special host, in the terrific James Nesbitt.

“A huge favourite of both the Empire readers and everyone on the Empire team, he is of course a huge star in his own right, but his charm and sharp sense of humour makes him an even more perfect fit."
