The X Factor winner talks to Alex James about the show and performs a live track

This time last year James was about to start Live Shows on the X Factor. Alex asked him if he would do it all over again, "I actually would, I don't need to but I would. The experience is so great, you learn so much about the industry. It's like a really quick artist development - it's educational."

James' relationship with Labrinth has developed since winning the X Factor and he speaks highly of him, "For me Lab is an absolute legend. I'm in awe of him. Before I did the X Factor Labrinth was one of my biggest influences.

He's a Jack of all trades, he'll pick up any instrument in the room, he can sing anything, he can rap, the guy is just a bit of a phenomenon."
