The Grand Budapest Hotel claims five BAFTAs
It was the most successful on the night
The Grand Budapest Hotel was the biggest winner at the British Academy Film Awards last night (9th February) claiming five gongs.
The Wes Anderson directed comedy drama about a hotel concierge’s mission to prove his innocence, was successful in the Original Screenplay Category, beating strong competition from ‘Nightcrawler’, ‘Birdman’, ‘Boyhood’ and ‘Whiplash’.
It also took home awards for Best Production Design, Best Make-up and Hair, and Best Original Music.
While the film missed out on Best Film to ‘Boyhood’ it still outperformed its competitors, winning five awards of its 11 nominations.
