DJ George Bowie gets shoutout in local artist's mural

With a reimagined scene from movie Taken

Author: Hazel ScottPublished 26th Oct 2022

Our very own presenter and DJ George Bowie has been given a shoutout from a local street artist alongside a portrait of Liam Neeson. The Clyde 1 presenter was mentioned by name in a recent artwork showing a parody of Liam's appearance in Taken.

Artist TapendTef has depicted the famous phone call scene from the action film with a twist. The speech bubble shows the conversation is Liam requesting a song from Bowie! It reads: 'Happnin' Georgie Boy, can ye play Concrete Angels??'. (sic)

The artist shared a couple of photos of the artwork on social media with the caption: 'Quick Monday morning spray. Liam neeson phoning gbx.' (sic)

This isn't the first celebrity to feature in TapendTef's work, with previous art showing scenes from Pulp Fiction with Samuel L. Jackson and John Travolta, as well as TV series It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and a sketch from local comedian Limmy.
