If you're a fan on TV star Gemma Atkinson, then you'll know that she loves her dogs Norman and Ollie. Gem's furry friends have been there for her and her family throughout the last few years, and they even helped to announce her pregnancy with Mia.
Now, Gemma has revealed just how much the support of Norman and Ollie has helped her during lockdown saying, "Lockdown has been tough for everyone – for me it was made easier by my dogs Norman and Ollie, who provided love and emotional support when I felt low and who kept me fit and active through our daily walks.
"We tried to get out as a family every day – spending time outdoors with Gorka, Mia and the dogs became the part of the day I looked forward to most, and that hasn’t changed, I still value that time so much."
Gemma went on to explain that it wasn't just her who felt like that, "I’ve got friends and family who say the same – for some, their dogs gave them a focus and a purpose during the difficult times, while for others their dogs were their only company."
Gemma's experience has been mirrored in some research which showed that 29% of dog owners said spending more time with their dog was the best thing about lockdown, and almost half agreed that their dog made them feel calm and helped with loneliness.
The TV star has had so much support from her dogs she's now launched a competition to find a deserving dog to be featured on a new limited-edition of Purina Beta!
