Ed Balls voted off Strictly Come Dancing but not everybody is happy about it
Ed lost out to Judge Rinder
He was dubbed the ‘joke’ act on this year’s Strictly Come Dancing but as the series has progressed former MP Ed Balls has grown in popularity on the show and now he’s finally been voted off not everyone is happy.
After a spirited performance with his partner Katya Jones on Saturday night, the pair found themselves in the bottom two despite being dubbed as ‘the people’s champion’ by head judge Len Goodman.
Ed was up against ITV’s Judge Rinder in the dance off and despite handing the judges a red rose out of his mouth, all four judges opted to save Robert Rinder over the politician.
Despite many viewers being left outraged that Ed had made it this far, it seems not everybody was happy with the outcome with many fans of the show taking to Twitter to express their disappointment over Ed’s dismissal.
Even former Prime Minister David Cameron tweeted…
This week’s show brought an added extra in the form of a ‘cha-cha challenge’. All couples had to show off their skills to a ‘random’ choice of music to impress the judges. Unfortunately for Ed, not only did he finish bottom of the leaderboard for his main dance, the judges also scored him the least in the challenge.
Meanwhile, now that Ed is out the competition is heating right up. Former Hollyoaks actor Danny Mac is the favourite to win the popular dancing show after his impressive samba routine.

Danny and his partner Oti Mabuse made Strictly history after becoming the first couple to score the top marks of 40 in a samba and viewers were certainly impressed with his efforts, with some even comparing him to a professional.
Despite being top of the leaderboard for the past two weeks, Danny still has tough competition for the crown with the likes of Louise Redknapp and Ore Oduba also impressing the judges with their routines.
The show continues live from Blackpool next weekend. Who’s your favourite?
