Dermot O'Leary speaks out at Ant and Dec's NTA nomination
Ant and Dec have won the award every year!
Last updated 17th Jan 2019
Earlier in the month it was announced that the National Television Awards 2019 will be back on Tuesday 22nd January, with X Factor host Dermot O'Leary presenting the popular ceremony.
After the nominations were announced, which included yet another nod for Geordie duo Ant and Dec, despite Ant McPartlin taking 2018 off from showbiz, some fans were left wondering why he was given a nomination.
And now, with just one week to go before the ceremony, Dermot, who failed to get nominated alongside Ant and Dec in the 'Best Presenter' category this year, has spoken about their nomination, admitting it should be 'cancelled' if they win again.
The pair have been crowned the winners of the Best Presenter award since the show first started way back in 2001, so Dermot told The Daily Star, "If Ant and Dec win it this year, we should just not do it anymore. If they win it, we may as well just chuck in the towel.
"With the greatest respect to the boys, I think Holly Willoughby has had such a great year, and Graham Norton."
Dermot later revealed that Ant and Dec made the decision that they wanted to be put up for the award together, with the 45-year-old telling the publication, "They made the decision that they want to put themselves up this year, so you’d have to ask them."
Ant and Dec are up against Holly Willoughby, Phillip Schofield, Graham Norton and Bradley Walsh in the Best Presenter category, do you think they will win again?
