David Beckham mocked by fans over tribute to the Queen

Oh David! 🙈

Author: Georgina TerryPublished 24th Apr 2019

David Beckham's cute birthday message to Queen Elizabeth II didn't have quite the reaction he was probably expecting.

The former England footballer wrote on Instagram, 'Happy Birthday your Majesty Thank you for always being the inspiration our country deserves .. Have the most amazing day @kensingtonroyal @sussexroyal.' sic

Despite his lovely message to help the Queen celebrate her 93rd birthday, David's followers were quick to mock the sportsman, with one writing, 'You're not getting knighted.'

A second said, 'You really want that knighthood don’t you, Dave?'

And another chimed, 'You're not getting knighted, David. Give it a rest.'

At the time of writing, neither of the royal accounts David tagged had responded to his sweet birthday message.

Poor thing! 🙈
