Tracy Beaker star opens up about her labour
Actress Dani Harmer has revealed she was ‘devastated’ when she discovered she had to undergo an emergency caesarean section to deliver her first child.
The former 'Tracy Beaker' star gave birth to her daughter Avarie-Belle Betsy Brough in June with her boyfriend Simon Brough.
Now the actress has opened up about her traumatic birth in a new magazine interview where she revealed it didn’t quite go to plan.
Speaking about her initial plans, the 27-year-old said “My birth plan was literally birthing pool, whale music, no drugs, let's just try and be really hippy about it and do some breathing".
However, she then revealed the complete opposite happened and was left exhausted after her three-day labour. She explained “I was devastated, I cried a lot. It just turned into the complete opposite."
She then added "Once she'd come out, I started to regain feeling so I could feel literally everything they were doing."
Dani and her boyfriend Simon first announced the birth at the end of June when Dani’s mum confirmed both mother and baby were doing very well.
The pair announced they were expecting their first child back in January when Dani admitted she ‘always wanted to be a mum’.
At the time of the announcement Dani said “We’re over the moon. I still wake up every morning and go, 'I'm pregnant. It was amazing seeing the scan. I find the whole thing absolutely fascinating. What an amazing, clever thing to be going on inside my body."
Dani shot to fame when she portrayed the role of 'Tracy Beaker' in the hit show and later returned to TV in 2010 when she finished fourth on 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
It seems the happy couple are now enjoying time with their daughter.
