'Lord of the Rings' fans are hoping to raise £1.84bn in 60 days to recreate the famous 'Lord of the Rings' city, Minas Trith...

They state on their 'Indiegogo' page "We are a team of Tolkien fans who are passionate about creating a beautiful, inspirational and fully-functioning replica of Peter Jackson's depiction of Minas Tirith, as seen in his Lord of the Rings films."

They go on to say "We all share a love of Tolkien's work, and a desire to challenge the common perception of community and architecture. We believe that, in realising Minas Tirith, we could create not only the most remarkable tourist attraction on the planet, but also a wonderfully unique place to live and work. " Their goal is to raise £1.85bn within 60 days and is being planned by a self-professed “ambitious team of architects and structural engineers,” that will be headed by Jonathan Wilson.

If the team are successful in receiving funding then work will begin in Northern England in 2016, and be completed by 2023.
