The 25th Screen Actors Guild Awards took place on Sunday night, honouring the best in TV and film, with Rami Malek winning Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role, for his portrayal of Freddie Mercury Bohemian Rhapsody. Emily Blunt also fought off competition from Amy Adams, Margot Robbie, Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz, to win Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role, for her part in the 2018 film, A Quiet Place.

However, it was Black Panther which picked up the highly coveted Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, meaning it is now highly tipped to receive an Oscar in the forthcoming awards on the 25th February 2019.

Unfortunately, pop star Lady Gaga missed out on an award, after being nominated in the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role category, with Glenn Close taking home the award for her role in The Wife.
