We're now just a few days away from Christmas Day, so we thought we'd find out exactly what it is that we love in the run up to the big day. According to the latest research we love everything from writing cards to decorating our house, but what is it that takes the top spot?

The results from the latest research by UKTV Play suggest that we love the build-up to Christmas almost better than the day itself, with the majority of our festive traditions over by the day itself. Apparently our 'festive joy' also peaks on Christmas Eve!

Writing Christmas cards falls at number 10 on our list, although at the time you might be wondering how many you have left to write, it's so lovely to receive a card from someone you haven't heard from for ages.

Over a third of those surveyed were also cheered up by Christmas shopping, and visiting seasonal markets. Listening to festive music also helped get everyone into the festive spirit. So, if you want to listen to more Christmas songs and keep yourself in the festive spirit, make sure you tune into Clyde 1.
