Making a difference during a pandemic

The Cash for Kids Appeal so far!

It’s a difficult time at the moment and as we all know, the families who are on low incomes or on the brink of poverty will be feeling the pressure even more.

It all happened very suddenly and we felt it was more important than ever that we support our community so after a lot of thought and a very tight turnaround, we launched the ‘Cash for Kids Appeal’. The emergency appeal is in response to the Coronavirus pandemic and designed to support families with grants which will help them cover basic essentials such as food and heating.

We can't thank our supporters enough for their on-going support which is allowing us to make a difference in the community. The feedback we have had has been heartwarming, it has really showed us that a little helping hand can go a long way, it can help ease worry for parents and ensure children don't feel the impact of that added pressure.

Unfortunately, the impact of coronavirus will cause child poverty to soar, through no fault of the families. Families have found themselves struggling to know where to turn, parents are skipping meals to ensure their children are fed and children are struggling with a lack of routine and feeling the heightened pressure going on around them. We will continue to be there to make a difference, but can only do that with the support of our fundraisers.

There's been some brilliant and creative fundraisers going on. Ross Dunn, who is only 4 years old, has been walking all the residential streets in Lenzie for sponsorship, Simply Rod did a live music session and West End Garden Centre sold their plants and donated the profits to Cash for Kids. That only just scratches the surface on how amazing and kind people have been.

All we can say is thank you from the bottom of hearts - we are so grateful. If you want to get involved and fundraise please drop us a line on 0141 204 1025 or email cashforkids@radioclyde.com
