Paul's Parcels
Paul’s Parcels is a group which has an emphasis on trying to alleviate food poverty in the local community. Many families that they support are living in debt, fear, and isolation. PP uses its funding to ensure families can afford utility bills to cook the food that the group provides. They provide weekly food parcels to families in need, making sure that they include fruit, veg and protein so that children are being fed full, balanced meals that are nutritional and filling.
They offer support to families who are in receipt of free school meals throughout the duration of the holidays. As these are families who are most likely to feel the effects of ‘holiday hunger’. Paul’s Parcels provide them with school shop vouchers, or supermarket vouchers for food and clothing.
Paul’s Parcels take referrals from the local high school as many families are in need of support.
Cash for Kids help Paul’s Parcels by providing grants to support the purchase of food, utility costs, school unforms, winter clothing, ad vouchers for families in need. Despite weekly food parcels from PP, food costs continue to rise during the school holiday period so CFK granting can help to provide vouchers and reduce holiday hunger.
