Two cops hospitalised during Stevenson disturbance

Two police officers were taken to hospital yesterday afternoon following a disturbance in Stevenson.

Cops arrived at a home in the Shore Road area of the town just before 4 pm on Monday.

Two members of the force were injured during the incident and taken to hospital for treatment.

They were later released.

A 43-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with what happened.

He was due to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court at some point on Tuesday.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called to a report of a disturbance at a property in the Shore Road area of Stevenson around 3.55pm on Monday, 30 September, 2024.

“A 43-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident. He’s due to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Tuesday, 1 October, 2024.

“Two officers were injured during this incident and were taken to hospital for treatment and later released.”
