Man named after fatal South Ayrshire road crash

The one-vehicle accident took place last Friday

A motorcyclist who died in a crash last Friday has been named.

Brian McGill, from Dailly, was involved in a one-vehicle accident on the B741 southwest of Hamilton Bridge, Crosshill just before 5pm.

Emergency services attended however the 59-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are now appealing for any witnesses to establish what happened.

Sergeant Nick Twigg said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Mr McGill, and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the crash.

“We are appealing to anyone who saw the motorbike in the area prior to the crash or witnessed the crash itself to contact us. Additionally, if you have any dash-cam or helmet camera footage that may assist with our investigation, please get in touch.

At the time of the accident, the road was closed before being reopened early on Saturday morning.
