Kilmarnock bus driver charged following crash
Eight people were taken to hospital
The driver of the Kilmarnock bus that crashed into a tunnel injuring eight people has been charged with a road traffic offence.
On Thursday, the roof of the double-decker Stagecoach bus was ripped clean off following the collision on Culzean Crescent just before 2 pm.
Police confirmed eight of the passengers were taken to hospital although there were no reports of any serious injuries.
Now, officers have confirmed the person behind the wheel at the time of the crash, a 34-year-old man, has been charged.
A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
