Man hit by bus as Kilmarnock street is locked down

A man was knocked over by a bus in Ayrshire yesterday causing a busy street to be locked down.
The incident happened just after 5pm on Saturday. Police cordoned off John Finnie Street in Kilmarnock at Langlands Street and West George Street with other emergency services also scrambled to the scene.
Several police vans and a Scottish Fire and Rescue crew were among those at the scene in front of Kilmarnock Train Station.
It’s understood it was a private coach that was involved – a 28-year-old man was taken to Crosshouse Hospital.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “John Finnie Street in Kilmarnock has reopened following a crash involving a bus and a pedestrian that happened around 5.05pm on Saturday, 1 February, 2025.
“Emergency services attended and the pedestrian, a 28-year-old man, was taken to Crosshouse Hospital.
“Motorists are thanked for their patience.”
