Cyclist in 'serious condition' in hospital after crash in Ayrshire

Road policing officers are appealing for information following a serious crash involving a cyclist in Ayrshire.

It happened around 7.20pm on Monday, 30 December, on the A737 between Dalgarven Mill and Hillend roundabout near Dalry.

Emergency services attended and the cyclist, a 55-year-old man, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow with serious injuries.

His condition is described as serious.

The condition of the driver of the white MG3 Exclusive car is unknown.

The road was closed for crash investigation work and re-opened around 11.50pm.

Constable Paul Kelly said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and we are keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened.

“If you were driving in the area at the time, please also check any dash-cam footage you have and get in touch if you have captured anything that could assist with our investigation.”
