Murray Davidson and Michael O'Halloran provide boost for St Johnstone

St Johnstone manager Tommy Wright hopes to have both Murray Davidson and Michael O'Halloran back for Sunday's visit of Aberdeen after the midfielders failed to see out the first half at Fir Park.

O'Halloran went off ill midway through the first half of St Johnstone's 2-0 defeat by Motherwell on Wednesday while Davidson failed to shake off an injury caused by a collision with the home dugout.

Davidson got his foot trapped under a seat after his momentum took him off the pitch and limped off after struggling to play on.

Wright said: Michael is ill and Murray got injured clattering into the dugouts. They are pretty close to the edge of the pitch.

It doesn't seem too bad but we might have to scan him. All the initial tests seem all right so hopefully both will be okay for Sunday.

Obviously they are two influential players and you would like to keep them on the pitch but I still think we played well and created chances to win the game.''
