An investigation's underway after a 22-year old man was found dead at Hunterston coal terminal last night. Emergency services were called to the North Ayrshire terminal after the engineer was found at around 10pm. The terminal employee was there to do repair work. Police say he didn't fall from the crane and the death is being treated as unexplained - a post mortem looks set to be carried out. A spokesman for Peel Ports said: “We can confirm that one of our employees, a 22-year-old engineer, has died while working on a crane at the Hunterston Coal Terminal In Ayrshire around 10pm on Sunday night. “The emergency services were called immediately and we are co-operating fully with the ongoing investigations by Police Scotland and other statutory authorities. “Work at the terminal has been suspended and our thoughts are with his family and workmates.”
