A toddler has been injured after falling from the window of a flat.

A toddler has been injured after falling from the window of a flat in Rutherglen.

The two-year-old boy was taken to hospital after the incident on Tuesday.

Its understood despite the youngster plunging 35 feet he escaped very serious injury suffering a broken jaw and wrist in the incident.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "At 4.15pm on Tuesday, police were called after a child fell from a window of a flat in Kirkwood Street in Rutherglen.

"The two-year-old boy was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and police inquiries are ongoing.''
