Sex attack on woman in grounds of Glasgow hospital

Police are hunting a man who tried to rape a woman in the grounds of a hospital.

The 33-year-old woman was walking with a man at Stobhill Hospital in Springburn at around 8pm on Wednesday when he sexually assaulted her.

The incident is being treated as an assault with intent to rape, officers said.

The suspect is white, aged in his late 30s and was wearing a black waterproof jacket and dark-coloured jeans.

Detective Inspector Frank Clarke said: Police are following a positive line of inquiry in relation to this incident, but we are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

The grounds of the hospital would have been busy on Wednesday evening with visitors and staff entering and leaving.
