Sectarian attack on girls on a train
Two men got on board and spat at them at Old Kilpatrick
Transport police are appealing for information about a sectarian assault on three female Celtic fans on a train after the Old Firm match on Saturday.
At about 4.30pm on Saturdayt 10th September three teenage girls wearing Celtic shirts were travelling on a train which stopped at Old Kilpatrick station.
Two men on the platform saw the girls and started to shout abuse of a Sectarian nature. One then boarded the train and spat at one of the girls.
The first man was wearing a blue top and dark trousers. He was covering his face with a Union Jack scarf.
The second man was wearing a black T-shirt and shorts and had a dark-coloured beard.
Investigating officer PC Colin Campbell said: “This type of aggressive behaviour is totally unacceptable and will not be tolerated. The girls were obviously left very shaken by the incident, which was completely unprovoked.
“I urge anyone who was in the station at the time, or travelling onboard the train, to come forward and help us bring these men to justice.”
