School Pays Tribute To "Shining Light" Crash Victim Robbie Quigg, 6
A six-year-old boy who died after being hit by a car has been described as a shining light''.
Robbie Quigg was struck by a Peugeot 407 on Cumberland Road in Greenock, Inverclyde, at about 5.15pm on Wednesday.
The youngster, who lived in the road, was taken to hospital, where he died in the early hours of Thursday.
Robbie was a pupil at the town's St Andrew's Primary and headteacher Alan Connick said everyone at the school is heartbroken''.
Mr Connick added: Robbie was a shining light in St Andrew's. His smiling, cheerful face met you every day and he was always ready for a chat about football or wrestling.
As a school we are devastated and heartbroken at what has happened.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Robbie's family, friends and the wider community at this difficult and painful time.''
The 44-year-old man who was driving the car was not injured.
Police inquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances of the crash.
