Police are warning the public not to approach two men who have failed to return to an open prison near Dundee.

24 year old Daniel Hussain and 23 year old Kieran Kiely were both reported missing from Castle Huntly open prison at 4.20pm on Wednesday.

Police are appealing for information to help trace the pair.

24 year old Hussain was jailed in 2012 for brandishing a sword at two workers in a jewellery shop in Glasgow in a robbery bid.

23 year old Kiely, a former Morton footballer, was locked up in 2014 for stealing a BMW at knifepoint in Helensburgh.

Officers believe Hussain has connections in Glasgow and Perth and Kiely has links to Glasgow, Stirling and Fife.
