Police Search for Prisoner Absconder
A prisoner who absconded from a women's jail is being sought by police.
Amy Stewart, 31, failed to return to HMP Cornton Vale near Stirling on Sunday.
She was jailed in 2004 for the murder of a 21-year-old man in Glasgow.
Police said Stewart, who was on a week-long licence at the time, is not thought to be a risk to the public.
Officers are carrying out enquiries in Glasgow, West Lothian and the Stirling area in a bid to find the missing prisoner.
Superintendent Kenneth Macleod said: "We are currently looking to trace Amy Stewart, who is missing from HMP/YOI Cornton Vale, and are currently working with our colleagues at the Scottish Prison Service to locate her.
"We would like to emphasise that Stewart is not considered to be a risk to the public at this time. Nevertheless, we are keen to see her returned to Cornton Vale as soon as possible.''
Anyone with information regarding her whereabouts is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.
