Police launch murder probe after decomposed remains found in house
Officers found the body of a man after going to a property in Kenmure Street, Pollokshields, just before 10am on Thursday.
A murder investigation has been launched by police following the death of a man in Glasgow.
Officers found the body of a man after going to a property in Kenmure Street, Pollokshields, just before 10am on Thursday.
Detective Inspector Mark Henderson, from the major investigation team, said: "The man whose identity has yet to be fully established due to the level of decomposition, met a violent death. We believe that his body had been within the house for a couple of weeks.
"Whilst we are yet to establish the identity of the man, one line of inquiry is that the body of the man could be that of the householder, Gordon Bolam, however this cannot yet be confirmed. Relatives have been informed of this possible line of inquiry.
"To establish the circumstances, we are anxious to hear of any information or whereabouts of the householder Gordon Bolam. He was not reported missing to police but I am sure someone must have noticed him not being in the area.
"What we need to know, other than who did this and why, is to establish Mr Bolam's movements recently and ascertain where he has been in the last few weeks. Did you see him going to the local shops or a pub nearby?
"If you have seen or had any contact with Mr Bolam in the last three weeks or so, then please give police a call. "We are checking CCTV and speaking to his family, friends and neighbours to get as much information as we can. We would still appeal to anyone who knows Gordon, who has seen or heard from him, or indeed, has any information they think will help our enquiries to contact the incident room at Govan Police Office.''
Anyone with information is asked to call detectives at the incident room at Govan on 101.
