Police in Hamilton are looking to trace two men who assaulted a 22-year-old on Tuesday evening.

Police in Hamilton are looking to trace two men who assaulted a 22-year-old on Tuesday evening.

It happened at around 11pm on Tuesday evening on a lane between Rosslyn Court and Marswood Green.

The injured man was taken to Hairmyres Hospital where he was treated for lacerations then later released.

The first man is described as white, slim build, around 6ft, with short dark hair. He was wearing blue jeans and possibly a tracksuit top.

The second man is described as white, in his 20s, with a slim build and wearing dark clothing.

Detective Constable Ross Philip of Hamilton Police Office said: “Enquiries are continuing and I would ask any witnesses who have not yet came forward to police, or anyone with information regarding the two men responsible to contact Police Scotland on 101.

"Alternatively CRIMESTOPPERS can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
