Officers speak to 147 people in search for missing Govanhill woman
Have you seen Janet McQueen?
Police officers in the South East of Glasgow have spoken to 147 people about a missing woman from Govanhill.
58-year-old Janet McQueen was last seen by her neighbour leaving her home in Langside Road at around 10pm last Tuesday and it's thought she might have traveled across the city.
She'd been on a bus in Ballieston earlier in the day where she became so distressed the police were called to take her home.
Last night, one week on from when she was last seen, officers attended the Govanhill area to speak with local residents.
They have since thanked people who helped them along Langside Road, Cathcart Road, Pollokshaws Road and Victoria Road.
Janet is described as white, 5ft tall, of slim build with short black hair. She was wearing glasses, a black anorak and dark coloured trousers.
Inspector Alex Hutton, Cathcart Police Office, said today: “We know from speaking to family and friends that for Janet to be out of touch for this length of time is not like her at all. There are serious concerns for her wellbeing.
“Our enquiries have been continuing to trace Janet safe and well." “I would appeal to anyone who knows Janet, or who may have seen her since Tuesday 18 October, to call officers at Cathcart Police Office via 101. If you encounter officers on the streets of Govanhill and Shawlands, please approach them with any information you may have.” “You may not think the information you have is much, but as part of our broader investigation it could make all the difference”
