Murder inquiry launched in Uddingston
Police Scotland has launched a murder inquiry following the death of an 18 year old man in Uddingston.
He was found injured in North British Road just after midnight and was taken to Monklands hospital for treatment, but later died.
A post mortem examination will be carried out in due course. Officers are still on the scene conducting enquiries. CCTV images from in an around the area will be gathered and reviewed in an effort to establish how the man came about his injuries.
Detective Chief Inspector Gary Boyd from Police Scotland’s Major Investigation Team said: “This inquiry is at an early stage but a young man has lost his life and we need to piece together the circumstances of what happened. I am appealing to anyone who may have been in the area around the time of the incident to get in touch, or if you know or have heard anything regarding this crime, then please do pass that information onto officers.”
