Man To Stand Trial Accused Of Glasgow Murder

A MAN is to stand trial accused of murdering a young father in the street. Marc O'Haire is charged with attacking John McFarlane in Auchinairn, Glasgow last September 25. The murder charge claims O'Haire chased the 28 year-old before repeatedly punching him on the head and body. It is further alleged the 29 year-old struggled with Mr McFarlane before striking him on the head with a metal bar or similar item. O'Haire is then said to have stabbed Mr McFarlane on the body. O'Haire faces a separate charge of assaulting Mr McFarlane on the same date. He denied the allegations during a short hearing at the High Court in Glasgow. Judge Lady Rae set a trial due to begin in June in Stirling.
