Man seriously assaulted near Parkhead Cross
The 33-year-old was approached by two men who attacked him on Wednesday evening on Westmuir Street at about 7.20pm
A man is being treated for injuries to his back and head after being seriously assaulted near Parkhead Cross.
The 33-year-old was approached by two men who attacked him yesterday evening on Westmuir Street at about 7.20pm.
Both men made off towards Crail Street.
Now police are gathering CCTV from in and around the area in an effort to try and gain additional information.
Detective Constable Eilidh Marshall said: “This is normally a busy area with people and traffic, so I’m sure there were people around at the time of the incident.
“A young man has been attacked for no apparent reason and we need to find out why this happened.
“I am appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time of the attack to contact us with any information which could assist in progressing our enquiries.”
Both suspects are described as white, one is between 30 and 40, around 5 ft. 6 inches in height, with a dark beard. He was wearing a dark fleece jacket, dark jeans and navy boots.
There is currently no information on the second man.
