Man hit on head with blunt instrument in Clydebank

A 25 year old man is in hospital with head injuries after being assaulted in the early hours of this morning.

A 25 year old man was hit on the head with a blunt instrument in the Drumry area of Clydebank in the early hours of this morning.

It happened at about 1.30am when he was walking on a footpath on Ellisland Avenue.

The injured man is currently receiving treatment within the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for a head injury. Hospital staff describe his condition as stable.

The suspect is described as white, around 5ft 10 with short dark hair.

Detective Inspector Scott Hamilton at Clydebank CID said: “It is believed that the 25-year-old man had been involved in an argument with the suspect prior to him being assaulted and therefore I’d like to speak to anyone who witnessed this argument or the actual assault taking place.

“Anyone who has information is asked to contact Clydebank CID via 101 or alternatively CRIMESTOPPERS on 0800 555 111 where anonymity can be maintained.”
