A man has appeared in court charged with attempting to murder a cleaner.
A man has appeared in court charged with attempting to murder a cleaner. Edward Coyle, 49, allegedly assaulted Margaret Campbell, 55, at Lawmoor Street, Glasgow on March 17. Papers from Glasgow Sheriff Court claim he repeatedly struck her on the body with a knife or similar implement to her severe injury, permanent disfigurement and danger to life. The charge alleges that he attempted to murder Mrs Campbell. Coyle, from Gorbals, Glasgow, appeared in private at the court where he made no plea or declaration. He was represented by Craig Grimes and remanded in custody by sheriff Joan Kerr. A full committal hearing will take place next week.
