Man, 21, Stabbed In Murder Bid

A 21-year-old man is in a serious condition in hospital after being stabbed in Riddrie last night.

It happened at around 5:15pm, a he was in Don Street when he was attacked by two men.

The men responsible were seen driving away in a black car after the attack, which was last seen heading in the direction of Cumbernauld Road.

The man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where medical staff describe his condition as serious but stable.

Police are treating the incident at attempted murder.

Officers will be carrying out door-to-door enquiries in the area today to find out more information on the incident. They will also be gathering and reviewing CCTV from the surrounding areas as part of the ongoing inquiry.

The first male suspect is described as white, approximately; 6 feet, medium build and wearing a grey hooded top.

The second male suspect is white, approximately 6 feet, medium build and wearing a blue hooded top.

Detective Inspector Ogilvie Ross said: “We have yet to establish a motive for this attack but a man has been left seriously injured and it’s imperative the men responsible are traced.

"Officers will be speaking to residents in the area today but I am appealing to anyone who may have any information regarding the incident to get in touch with us. You may have seen or heard something which could be linked to the crime so please pass on any information or knowledge to us.”
