A man found dead in a Glasgow street has been named by police.
A man found dead in a Glasgow street has been named by police.
William Gibb, 47, was injured in Elizabeth Street in Govan at about 12.20am on Tuesday.
Paramedics attended but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
His family have been informed.
Police arrested a man on Tuesday night.
Gavin Riley, 27, from Glasgow, made no plea or declaration when he appeared at the city's Sheriff Court on Wednesday charged with murder and attempting to defeat the ends of justice.
The case was committed for further examination and he was remanded in custody ahead of an expected appearance next week, the Crown Office confirmed.
