Funeral for tragic teen Paige Doherty
The funeral for Clydebank school girl Paige Doherty will take place at St Margarets Chapel in Whitecrook.
Family and friends will gather to say their final goodbyes to tragic teenager Paige Doherty.
The Clydebank schoolgirl went missing on the 19th of March and her body was found at the side of Great Western Road on the 21st of March.
The 15-year-old will be laid to rest at St Margarets Chapel in Whitecrook, near where she was from.
Mourners attending the mass have been asked to turn out in bright colours to remember the teenager.
In a message on Facebook, her mother Pamela Munro has requested everyone wear a bright colour "whether it be a tie, jacket or dress''.
A white horse-drawn carriage took Paige's coffin to the church on Tuesday evening ahead of the service.
The horses wore pink feather headdresses and colourful floral tributes included pouting lips and a star.
Following the teenager's death, people including Scotland's First Minister showed the family support by posting pictures of themselves pouting with the hashtag PoutforPaige.
Paige, who would have been 16 last Sunday, was reported missing after failing to turn up at her weekend hairdressing job on March 19.
Her body was recovered from bushes at the side of Great Western Road in Clydebank two days later. John Leathem, 31, has appeared at Dumbarton Sheriff Court charged with murder.
Paige's mother wrote on the eve of the funeral: Wish there was a way we could turn back time and make sure this never happened.
"Unfortunately the world's a cruel place but Paige will always be around us for sure."
Canon Gerard Tartaglia will be conducting the service and said; “The whole community is praying for Paige, for her mum, dad, and dear family.
The support of so many must really be a comfort to them while they continue to come to terms with their shocking loss.
Now is the time, more than ever, for quiet, gentle, prayerful and loving support for them.”
31-year-old Johnny Leathem has been charged with her murder.
