An eight-week-old fox cub has been found at the side of a busy city road after becoming separated from its mother.
The animal was discovered in a state of shock and suffering from concussion on Maryhill Road in Glasgow on April 2.
Animal rescue officers, who have named him Nevada, think he might have been dropped by his mother accidentally and then bumped his head in the fall.
It is the second fox cub to be rescued by the Scottish SPCA in recent weeks.
Tiny cub Utah was found without her mother on a road in Bellshill, North Lanarkshire, last month aged three or four weeks.
Both animals were taken to the charity's centre in Fishcross, Clackmannanshire, to be cared for.
Centre manager Colin Seddon said, "Nevada was very weak at first and had to be put on a drip. Thankfully, he has perked up and is growing stronger day by day.
"We are hopeful that Nevada will make a full recovery, largely thanks to the emergency care given to him by the vet the night he was found.
"We will continue to do everything we can to enable him to return to the wild fit, healthy and able to fend for himself.''
He said both foxes would be released at carefully-selected sites when they are at the right stage to be able to survive on their own in the wild.
